Discovery Channel :: News :: Study: Genes, Family Size Linked to Homos

A study led by Francesca Corna and psychologists at the University of Padova compares 100 homosexual men with 100 heterosexual men and finds that none of the straight men have maternal relatives who are gay (out of 370), while on the paternal side the number was eight (out of 604). Previous studies have tried to show a link with Xq28, and the theory goes gay men are more likely to be younger brothers.

The study appears in Proceedings of The Royal Society B.
